South Shore CVA’s 30 Stops to Kick-Off at Lakeshore Public Media

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority will be kicking off the month-long campaign celebrating their 30th anniversary on Monday, July 1, at Lakeshore Public Media, located at 8625 Indiana Place in Merrillville, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Throughout July, the South Shore CVA’s Tour Mobile will be making a stop at a different festival, attraction, restaurant or business each day as part of the 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign.

During the 30 Stops in 30 Days kick-off at Lakeshore Public Media, visitors will enjoy lunch, studio tours and a meet and greet with local attractions’ mascots. Beginning at 11:30, the South Shore CVA, Lakeshore Public Media and Family Express will be holding a press conference to discuss the campaign and multiple opportunities for prizes and giveaways.

Visitors stopping at the Tour Mobile during the stops will be entered to win a $25 gift card each day from Family Express. Additionally, for each stop a visitor makes, they will be entered to win the grand prize of a $2,000 gift card from Family Express. The grand prize drawing will be held at the Indiana Welcome Center on Tuesday, July 30 at noon, following a surprise finale to 30 Stops in 30 Days.

Additional stops during the first week of July include the South Shore Civil War Memorial Trail’s event at Maplewood Cemetery in Crown Point on Tuesday, July 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. During the South Shore Civil War Memorial Trail event, there will be a memorial dedication to Col. John Wheeler. The event will include a reading from letters Col. Wheeler wrote during the Civil War and a reading of the Gettysburg Address. The South Shore CVA Tour Mobile will be passing out coupons for the Town of Highland’s 4th of July festival.

On Wednesday, July 3, the South Shore CVA Tour Mobile will be at the Town of Highland’s 4th of July festival from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Twilight Parade will step-off at 45th Avenue and Kennedy, turning at Highway Avenue and ending at Main Square.

The South Shore CVA Tour Mobile will be at the Hobart Fourth of July fireworks display at Festival Park on Thursday, July 4. From 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., visitors may receive a promotional item from Cedar Lake Summerfest.

On Friday, July 5, visitors can stop at the Tour Mobile from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Cedar Lake Summerfest and pick up beach balls to play with when they follow the Tour Mobile to Indiana Dunes West Beach on Saturday, July 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where coupons and a giveaway will be available for Shady Creek Winery.

Ending the first week of 30 Stops in 30 Days, visitors will find the South Shore Tour Mobile making a pit stop at the Family Express in Michigan City located at 7687 E. Highway 20. There they can meet with a Family Express representative and learn about FE Perks.

From Family Express, the Tour Mobile will be at Shady Creek Winery, located at 2030 Tryon Road in Michigan City, from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to pick-up coupons for Albanese Confectionery as 30 Stops in 30 Days heads into the second week of the campaign.
