South Haven Jr. Volunteer Fire Fighters Host Alarm Chili Cook-off

South-Haven-Jr-Volunteer-Fire-Fighters-Host-Alarm-Chili-Cook-offThe South Haven Jr. Volunteer Fire Fighters are hosting an Alarm Chili Cook-off on Saturday, May 2nd in the community room at the South Haven Volunteer Fire Department (398 W. 700 N. Valparaiso, IN 46385) from 4-8p. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the South Haven Jr. Firefighter’s Relay For Life team in Portage.

The community is invited to participate in the event in any one of a number of ways including coming out for tastings. The Jr. Firefighters will be selling hotdogs, chips, baked goods and drinks. There is no fee to enter your favorite pot of chili in the contest.

If you don’t have a favorite recipe to enter into the cook-off come on down to the fire station and help them eat the chili and pick a winner. Admission is $5/adult and $3.00 for kids under six years old. Event attendees will have the opportunity to taste each chili entry and cast a vote for their favorite one. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the chili cook-off.
