porter-county-public-libraryThe Porter County Library System has something for everyone; so we invite you to join the majority of residents that already have a library card! A Library Card gives you access to books, ebooks, movies, computers, CDs and more; we invite YOU to come in and apply for your card today.

Library Card Sign-up Month is a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country remind us that a library card is the smartest card in your wallet or school box! Studies show that children learn best when they have the opportunity to pursue their own interests. Libraries provide students with access to innovative programs, classes and educational resources to support their curiosity. Best of all it won’t cost you a thing – it’s all free with a library card.

Getting a library card is easy! Simply bring current photo identification and proof of address within Porter County to any branch of the Porter County Public Library System in Hebron, Kouts, Portage, South Haven, and Valparaiso.

PCPLS offers many free and low-cost educational and entertaining programs for all ages. Introduce your child to books and the library by enrolling them in story hours, craft programs or a writing workshop while adults can take advantage of health screenings or join a book discussion or knitting group.
