Second Annual Rittenhouse Prom is a Ball!

Second Annual Rittenhouse Prom is a Ball!

Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage hosted their second annual Senior Prom on February 7th with a Masquerade Ball theme. The day started with free manicures from the students at Excel Beauty School in Merrillville. The community was decorated in purple and gold decorations to match the theme. Residents, guests, and staff dressed up in their finest attire and wore masks that were hand crafted as an activity the prior week.

The dancing group from Bonner Senior Center in Portage attended and encouraged all the guests and residents to dance. One resident of Rittenhouse quoted later in the evening “I had so much fun, I danced with three different men.” Chef Leland outdid himself with the spread of food; the chocolate fountain was the big hit.

The highlight of the event was the crowning of the King and Queen. Helen Sopko was crowned Queen and Lois Russell was crowned King; both names were drawn randomly. The King and Queen enjoyed a dance together after they were chosen.
