Saylor Fourth Grade Junior Achievement Program

Paul-Saylor-Jr-Achievement-ProgramAll Paul Saylor fourth graders are taking part in this year’s Jr. Achievement elementary school program. Our Region is being presented by Mrs. Andershock, the area specialist and Mr. Wisneski of NIPSCO who are instructing students with important goals designed to provide practical information about natural, human, and capital resources found in regions of the U.S. and used by businesses to produce goods and services. Students are learning business and economic skills at each grade level that build on those taught in preceding years. Through this program students can develop personal characteristics, including a sound self-concept, taking responsibility, cooperating with others, making decisions, and setting personal goals. Most importantly, practical decision-making skills are taught to demonstrate wise use of natural resources.

A variety of hands-on activities delivered by a volunteer role-model will enable our students to better understand the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation on our economy. What a great opportunity for our students!
