The AJ’s approach begins immediately as customers receive a lifetime warranty on buildings upon purchasing, making for an easy fix should they need repairs down the road.
“The warranty covers any craftsmanship,” Owner Pat Dykes said. “This could be work that the building needs or if something goes wrong with a door hinge, window, anything like that. You call and set up an appointment, and we'll send a guy called the Shed Doctor out. He'll fix it for you, no questions asked.”
Additionally, once a customer buys a building, they can rest assured they have bought the best building out there. While renting may seem like an attractive option at first, it can easily rack up a major charge, eventually reaching the price of other big household items in a short amount of time. Owning a building, however, greatly lowers these costs. Once that final payment in the contract is made, worrying about monthly, costly payments is a thing of the past.
“People are going out, renting these storage buildings, and paying $150 a month to keep them for five to 10 years, which costs you basically the price of a new car. With us, you can just make the payments for five years or whatever term the contract is,” Dykes said. “In other words, when you leave a storage unit you rented, you get nothing. With owning, you still have a building after the term of the lease or rental contract.”
Owners of an AJ building can also take their building anywhere, anytime – the team is always along for the ride.
“Even if you rent your house, you can get our buildings okayed by your landlord,” Dykes said. “One thing about a Yoder building is that we can always move it for you. If you sell your house and the people don't want to pay you more for it, we can move it to your new house!"
Once purchased, the building is just a swift jaunt away from its new home. AJ’s offers free delivery and set up within a 50-mile radius of one of its many locations throughout the state of Indiana and only a small delivery charge is needed for those outside those areas.
“What we do is we bring the shed out on a semi-truck or on a trailer, drop it off at the road, pick it up with our little machine, place it in your yard, set it, and level it for you. You get a driver and a machine delivering your building – it's pretty neat to watch because they maneuver the building to get it where you want,” Dykes said. “You can either have a concrete pad, a gravel pad, or you can do something as simple as these little paver blocks.”
Whether you’ve just purchased an AJ’s building or have had one for years, the team is never too far away for help. With over dozens of locations across Northern Indiana open most days of the week, an AJ’s representative is just a quick call or visit away.
“We're open at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at most locations,” Dykes said.
