Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage to Celebrate Alzheimer’s Action Day

Balloon-LaunchSeptember 21st has been declared Alzheimer’s Action Day. To honor those that are living with the disease or caring for someone with the disease Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage will be holding a balloon release at their community at 10:00a.m. on September 20th. Mayor James Snyder will read a proclamation before the balloons are released.

There are an estimated 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Alzheimer’s Disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed.

Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage offers a memory care program for residents who need more specialized care, our professionally trained staff uses state-of-the art techniques. The goal is the same: To attain for each resident the highest quality of life possible. A private and specially-designed area allows residents to feel at home and mingle with others, while gaining encouragement and loving care from Rittenhouse staff.
