On Monday, May 18, United Way of Porter County (UWPC) will be hosting its 5th Annual Golf Classic, presented by Kramer & Leonard. A scramble with a shot-gun start is planned for a noon kickoff at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Indiana. The Golf Classic is a true test of skill, as no mulligans or strings are offered.
Openings for 13 foursomes and limited sponsorships are still available for individuals and businesses. Golfing on all (3) nines allows for a comfortable pace of play. Food, snacks and complimentary beer are offered throughout the day.
Golfers have two chances at winning Hole-in-One prizes sponsored by Lake Shore Ford Toyota Scion, as well as a chance at winning a $5,000 Putt Contest sponsored by Pines Village Retirement Communities. Additionally, a member of each foursome will win VU Men’s Basketball tickets in the Closest to the Pin Contest. Silent auction prizes include Walt Disney World park passes, Cubs and Sox tickets, and a Miller Lite Retro Icebox Cooler.
Proceeds from the Golf Classic will benefit programs at 39 UWPC Partner Agencies in the areas of Education, Health and Financial Stability.
