“Regional Development” Chamber Luncheon

duneland-chamberThe projects, plans and progress of the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority (NWI RDA) will be the topic of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce’s Monthly Luncheon on Wednesday, June 26. Members of the public are invited to hear a “Regional Development” presentation by NWI RDA Chief Operating Officer Sherri Ziller. The event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 501 Gateway Blvd. in Chesterton, Indiana. Registration begins at 11:30am, and tickets may be purchased by calling the Chamber at (219) 926.5513 or by visiting www.dunelandchamber.org.

The NWI RDA is a catalyst organization that undertakes projects with state and federal agencies; supports public-private partnerships; and collaborates with agencies and individuals to transform the economy and quality of life in Northwest Indiana. The organization serves the communities of Lake and Porter counties, and provides funding for the Gary/Chicago International Airport, Commuter Rail Transportation, a regional bus system, the Lake Michigan Shoreline Development and other economic development projects in northwest Indiana.

“We’re very grateful that Sherri is making the time to speak to us about what her organization has accomplished – and plans to accomplish,” says Heather Ennis, the Chamber’s Executive Director. “As a Chamber, it’s critical to provide these learning opportunities to both Chamber and community members. And as engaged citizens, it’s important that we all take advantage of occasions to look at issues from a regional perspective. Sherri will help us with that process during the June 26 luncheon.”

Lemon Tree, Chesterton’s new Mediterranean restaurant, will be catering the luncheon, while staff from Kramer & Leonard Office Products will be providing welcoming remarks. The favor of an RSVP is requested by Monday, June 24. Please call the Chamber office at (219) 926-5513, visit www.dunelandchamber.org, or email info@dunelandchamber.org to register. Tickets for Chamber members are $12 ($14 if invoiced), while tickets for community members are $16 each.
