Recap of the 7th Annual Business Opportunity Night!

We had a great time last night at the Greater Portage Chamber of Commerce's 7th Annual Business Opportunity Night! Hundreds of people got to see 80 businesses and organizations serving Portage that were showcasing some of their great products and services!

By all accounts, it was the best turnout ever for the event, which was a great testament to all the hard work put in by the BON Committee, and Terry Hufford and the whole team of fun people at the Chamber. Thanks to all involved for putting on the event and congratulations on doing such a great job! If you did not make this event next year - absolutely put it on your calendar as soon as they announce next years date. Cool event that was not only a huge success but a really fun time for Brett, Karin, Laura, and I.
We saw quite a few folks that are beginning to become familiar faces, and met many new ones as well. It was great to connect to Norm from Tate's, John Rhame from Rhame & Elwood, who are one of the PortageLife sponsors. Tom Steindler from Stiendler Signs, Bart from Xocai Healthy Chocolate, Kelley Hoffman from Kauffman Chiropractic, Gwen Kiser from Miller's Senior Living, Michelle Golab from Topperz, Bob Franko from Porter Starke, Neil McLaughlin from Minuteman Press, Mike Lovings of Loving's Heating & Cooling, Mayor Velasquez from the City of Portage, Becky Fox and Christine Livingston from the Indiana Dunes, John Peterson of Midwest Family Federal Credit Union, Betsy Cuellar and Judy Cramer from Rittenhouse Senior Living, Bill Gregory from IUN, Robert Cox from Xorco Automation, Susan Brychelle from PNC, Tom Frain from Vision Air Conditioner Condenser Screens, Enrique Zapata from Shelter Insurance, Mike Morrison from Samuelson Insurance, Kim Wampler and Dr. Laura Hannon from Smile Brightly, Laura Gearhart from Absolutely Dry, and Mellisa Evans from Pro Energy Consultants, along with a few others that we are likely missing, there that night!

Always great to meet folks from Porter Health and hear about their celebration of all the volunteers that have collectively put in a crazy amount of time making the whole experience of coming to the hospital one that involves their friendly face. They have Nurse's Week, and Hospital Week coming up, have a special on mammograms this month for $99, and just hosted a bunch of high school kids this past week to learn about their emergency and maternity departments and introduce them to the opportunities open to them in healthcare. We thank Kelly Credit, Director System Strategy & Marketing and Angela Bullard of Porter's Impatient Rehab Unit and everyone at Porter as they are an incredible supporter of ours that allows us to do what it is that we do running around talking to all these positive folks.

We have photos up from the event, which you can find here, and we'll have a couple videos up on the site over the next week highlighting the event and many of the businesses attending, so be sure to check back over at the site!

Have a great weekend and week ahead. Thanks for the welcome into Portage. It feels good.
