“Club 250” Reached as PHS Baseball, Softball Teams Start Season

The Varsity baseball team opened up the season with a 13-7 victory over Elkhart Memorial over Spring Break. Cody Jackson picked up the win, while Andrew Brown, Tony Cheky, Gabe Acevedo, Sam Puchalski, Nate Ramian, & Dave Jercha each had a pair of hits for the Indians. Jeremy Sinkus lead the way with 3 RBI's.

On Saturday the Indians played the 23rd ranked team in the nation and lost 12-2. Dave Jercha and Allen Barrett lead the way with 2 hits a piece.

The JV Baseball Team beat Elkhart Memorial in both games of a double header with scores of 7-4, 6-3. In game one, Steven Saylor pitched 6 innings, striking out 4 to get the win. C.J. Haupt got the save. C.J. was also 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Branden Gardenshire was 2 for 3 with a single and a solo homerun. Anthony Samano was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. In game two, Ty Kniola pitched the complete game to get the win, striking out 7. Anthony Samano was 2 for 4. Kyle Sweeney was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI’s.

The Varsity Softball team beat Hebron over Spring Break 2-1. Sophmore Heather Zengler had 12 strike-outs. Sophmores Morgan Eastridge and Shebly Meints each had an RBI.

The JV softball team beat Hebron 11-0 Hannah Hilzley went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base Megan Statler went 1-2 with a double 2 RBI’s, and 2 stolen bases Brittany Adams threw a 1-hitter and struck out 4 to get the win
