purdue-logo.jpgThe Purdue men’s basketball team has been selected to play a league-high four games on ESPN Super Tuesday presented by KFC in the upcoming season, the network announced on Wednesday in a joint release with the league office.

Purdue’s four Super Tuesday appearances also match Kentucky for the most of any team in this year’s lineup of the annual doubleheader series that features Big Ten and SEC games.

The Boilermakers will be featured on Super Tuesday for three-consecutive weeks in the heart of the Big Ten slate, playing at Ohio State on Jan. 25 (9 p.m. ET), visiting Wisconsin on Feb. 1 (7 p.m. ET) and playing host to archrival Indiana on Feb. 8 (7 p.m. ET). After a two-week break, Purdue will square off with Illinois at Mackey Arena on March 1 (7 p.m. ET) to wrap up the 2011 Super Tuesday lineup.

The eight Super Tuesday games announced on Wednesday are part of a 29-game lineup of Big Ten league play to be televised on ESPN or ESPN2 in 2011. The remaining 21 conference games will be televised on either Thursday, Saturday or Sunday.

All Super Tuesday games will also be simulcast on ESPN3, the broadband outlet formerly known as ESPN360.com.

The Worldwide Leader will televise a total of 58 Big Ten games on an ESPN platform in 2010-11: 29 conference games on ESPN or ESPN2; 20 non-conference games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3; five ACC/Big Ten Challenge games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU; and four Big Ten Tournament games on ESPN or ESPN2.
