Purdue Commencement to be Shown Live on TV, Webcast

PurdueLogoPurdue University's winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 18 will be broadcast live for television and Internet audiences.

Ceremonies are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Elliott Hall of Music. The morning ceremony will be for students in the colleges of Agriculture, Education, Engineering and Liberal Arts. In the afternoon students in the colleges of Health and Human Sciences, Pharmacy, Science, Technology and the schools of Management and Veterinary Medicine will receive degrees.

The events will be aired live on Comcast Channel 5 and Boiler TV Channel 13. All speeches will be captioned for the hearing impaired. The ceremonies also will be shown live via webcast at mms://video1.itap.purdue.edu/graduation

Commencement videos will be available for $30 per DVD. Order forms can be obtained at the Loeb Playhouse box office, online at http://www.purdue.edu/registrar/pdf/DVD_Form.pdf, or by calling 765-494-3933. Forms may be submitted both before and after the ceremony within two weeks of the event.

There are 2,599 students who are candidates for degrees at West Lafayette, including 1,725 undergraduates, 349 doctoral students, 514 master's students, one education specialist and 10 professional degree-seekers. A posthumous bachelor of science and associate of science degree will be awarded to Sean A. Matti, a former student in the College of Technology.
