Purdue Calumet hosts Cardinal Stritch Saturday at 5:30p

PUC-PeregrinsThe Purdue University Calumet men's soccer team is slated to host league foe Cardinal Stritch University in the second match of Saturday's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader at Munster High School.

The Peregrines (5-5-1, 3-2-1) will face the Wolves (4-6-1, 2-2-1) starting at approximately 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The game follows the women's matchup between the two schools, slated to start at 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Purdue Calumet responded to a halftime draw to defeat CCAC rival Calumet College of St. Joseph, 3-1, Oct. 8. JP Garza (San Antonio, Texas/Reagan), Cristian Garcia (Whiting, Ind./Clark) and Nico Monteiro (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/IBMEC) all scored for the Peregrines in the victory.

PEREGRINE LEADERS: Junior Papa Otoo (Brandenton, Fla./Braden River) leads Purdue Calumet with four goals and two assists and Garza adds three goals and one assist to pace the Purdue Calumet offense. Freshman keeper Miguel David (Spring Valley, Calif./Bonita Vista) is ranked second in the CCAC in goals against average (1.17) and third in save percentage (.750) to go along with 36 saves this season.

SCOUTING CARDINAL STRITCH: The Wolves are coming off a 4-2 loss to Judson Oct. 8. Oliver Bell leads the squad with four goals and keeper Jim Jones has been steady in goal with a 1.60 goals against average and 66 saves.

SERIES HISTORY: Cardinal Stritch defeated the Peregrines 3-0 in Milwaukee in 2013. The two teams did not play in 2012.
