Programs for School Age Children at the Portage Public Library

Fall activities: Wednesdays, from September 29 through November 3, 5:30 pm Children in grades K-2 are welcome to join us on the first Wednesday of the month, children in grades 3-5 are welcome the last Wednesday of the month for a variety of activities. We will be making crafts, doing puzzles and playing games. Registration is required, each class is limited to 10 participants and there is a $1.00 fee for this event. porter-county-public-library

Chess @ the Library: Mondays, from September 20 through October 25, 5:30 pm Do you like to play chess? Want to learn about strategy and improve your skills? Sign up in the Youth Services Department for six weeks of fun! Beginners to advanced are welcome to register for this free program.

Creative Writing Workshop for Homeschoolers: Thursday; from September 23 through October 14, 11:15 am Are you a budding young author? Come to a 4 week creative writing workshop led by author Jane Schroeder to build your homeschoolers writing skills! If your child, Grades 4th through 12th, would like to learn new skills taught by a published writer please visit the Youth Services Department for details and to register by September 18. There is $25 fee for new students and $20 fee for former students and supplies are included.
