On Saturday, October 13th, the 112-member Pride of Portage marching band travelled to Lafayette Jefferson High School to compete in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Open Class "A" Northern Regional. The band received a Gold rating and finished among the top ten bands to qualify for its third consecutive Semi State appearance.
The Semi State contest will take place at Ben Davis High School on October 27th and will feature the top 20 class "A" bands in Indiana. The Pride of Portage will take the field at 4:41pm EST. The top ten finishing bands will advance to the ISSMA State Finals on November 3rd at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
