Fourth graders at South Haven Elementary mentor Kindergarten students to improve reading skills and so much more. The older students act as mentors to the kindergarteners by helping select books from the library and then listening to them read the stories. The fourth graders than help the younger students set up the computers to take tests about the books they have read.
This collaboration encourages positive peer relationships between the grade levels, helps develop leadership skills and improves reading skills.
All of this helps to make South Haven Elementary a great place to grow!
