Porter Health System’s Healthy Woman Program Presents “Urinary Stress Incontinence – No Laughing Matter”

To help women learn the causes of urinary stress incontinence, Porter Health System’s Healthy Woman ProgramHealthy_Woman_porter_logo will present an educational seminar entitled, “Urinary Stress Incontinence – No Laughing Matter,” by Urologist Adam Perlmutter, DO. The program will be held at 6:30 pm, on Monday, May 17, at the Duneland Family YMCA, 215 Roosevelt St, Chesterton.

According to Perlmutter, incontinence is not a natural part of the aging process, but many factors may increase women’s risk for urinary incontinence including child bearing, prior pelvic surgery, post menopause, diabetes and even smoking. During the presentation, Perlmutter will address the many solutions which may include a combination of behavioral therapy, medication to surgery.
