According to Perlmutter, incontinence is not a natural part of the aging process, but many factors may increase women’s risk for urinary incontinence including child bearing, prior pelvic surgery, post menopause, diabetes and even smoking. During the presentation, Perlmutter will address the many solutions which may include a combination of behavioral therapy, medication and surgery.
