Today, the Board of Directors of Porter Health Care System announced that Stephen Lunn will serve as its new CEO effective March 24.
“I look forward to joining the dedicated physicians, employees and volunteers at Porter Health Care System and supporting their work to provide the northwest Indiana community with high quality care,” said Lunn. “Porter Health Care System is an important resource for this area. I’m honored to join this hospital team.”
Lunn has more than 10 years of hospital leadership experience. Since 2011, Lunn has served as CEO of Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois, working to position the hospital as the provider of choice in Marion County. Under his leadership, Heartland Regional made improvements in patient care by reaching its highest-ever quality scores. The hospital also recruited a record number of new physicians, acquired five physician practices and was recognized for increased physician and employee satisfaction. Lunn’s achievements earned him the 2012 CEO Excellence in Leadership Award from Community Health Systems.

Prior to Heartland Regional, Lunn was CEO of Moberly Regional Medical Center in Missouri and CEO of Parkway Regional Hospital in Kentucky.
Lunn earned his MBA and bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
