Porter County Courthouse Becomes Special Setting for Flag Day!

Nancy-Adams-American-FlagFor the first time in Porter County history, a huge replica of the first Stars & Stripes will be displayed Tuesday on the north façade of the Porter County Courthouse for Flag Day.

Billed as the largest replica in the world of the original flag designed by Continental Congressman (and signer of the Declaration of Independence) Francis Hopkinson of Bordentown, New Jersey, the 15’ x 25’ uniquely designed American banner features six-pointed stars staggered in five rows.

This replica of the Stars & Stripes has been used for special events including Major League Baseball, National Park Service events, political backdrops, and premiere galas for The History Channel.

Owned by Valparaiso-based Native Sun Productions, the flag is being loaned for the purpose of recognizing Flag Day as a special remembrance of our country’s history.

Porter County Commissioner Nancy Adams made the arrangements with Native Sun to commemorate this special day.

"I am very pleased that I had the opportunity to help Porter County commemorate a very special day. I am looking forward to doing this again for 4th of July."
