Porter County Community Foundation has awarded a $10,000 Community Grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County to help improve efficiency of the Kidstop program operations. Kidstop is a before and after-school care program delivered in an environment of education, guidance and fun in nine Porter County elementary school sites through Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. The funds from the Community Grant will be used to purchase software which will streamline and simplify Kidstop billing and recordkeeping processes, allowing for greater accuracy and more efficient use of staff time.

Through the generosity and support of Porter County Community Foundation, this new software will enable Kidstop to operate more effectively and efficiently which will ultimately enhance the quality of our program,” said Ryan Smiley, Director of Operations for Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. “The administrative responsibility of serving more than 220 kids per day at nine sites is a daunting task. This technology will drastically increase our organization’s capacity to provide high quality, affordable before and after-school care to those children and families who need our services.

Kidstop is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fees are based on usage with morning, afternoon and full week options available. Children must be members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
