“18 on Franklin” Grand Opening

 

Our Entrepreneurship class hosted a Grand Opening of our new student store on November 26. Parents, grandparents, friends, and former students all joined us for the festive evening. Pictured is Dr. Stacey Schmidt, Superintendent of Porter Twp Schools, who attended as the guest of two Boone Grove students

Pictured below is Sean Burke (Auto Tech, Wheeler), Spencer Finney (Health Occ, Kouts), and Cody Penfold (Machine Trades, Hebron). These three students presented to the Leadership Northwest Indiana group on December 13. The audience was very interested in hearing from each of the students.


Baker College Recruiting our Students

Baker College in Owosso, Michigan sent a luxury bus to transport our students to see their facilities. The students and staff enjoyed the trip. Baker is the largest independent college in Michigan with 12 different campus locations. The Baker College mission is to prepare students for meaningful employment. Baker does not charge out of state tuition.

Culinary Students Continue Community Service Work

Two Students Recognized by Local Kiwanis Club

Mitch Paxton (VHS, Video Productions) and Genna Tolari, (Wheeler, Health Careers, not pictured) were recognized by the Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis Club as outstanding Career and Tech Center students at a recent meeting. Both students received certificates from Club President, John Hunter (also Union Twp School Superintendent) thanking them for their attendance and announcing a donation to the Kiwanis Foundation on their behalf.


Community Service Project - PHS Health Science classes adopted a family for the holidays!


Mrs. Wilson’s students are seen wrapping gifts for a needy family as a Christmastime community service project. Today’s students care about their community and are sincerely compassionate toward others.


First Source Bank Selects PCCTC for $15k Donation

The Porter County Career and Tech Center was selected as the major recipient of the First Source Bank 150 Years celebration. December 19, we received a check for $15,000 at a press conference in South Bend. The funds will be used to help us fund student field trips and our student incentive programs.
