Myers Elementary
4th Grade students at Myers Elementary took a step back in time this week with their study trip to Pioneerland in La Porte. Students visited a blacksmith’s forge, livestock barn, historic schoolhouse, and pioneer cabin where they learned more about how the earliest adventurers lived on the frontier. The 4th graders even had the opportunity to play with authentic pioneer toys and games, such as wooden stilts, hoop rolling, and ring toss.

Saylor Elementary
Mrs. Sopko's 4th grade students were visited by Brian Surabaya, an engineer for Conagra. Mr. Surabaya came in to talk about assembly lines, and how goods are manufactured. Afterwards, students were given a plan and instructions, on how to make their own assembly line. It was a really fun, hands on experience.

PHS Foreign Language Department
The dual credit French 4 students have maintained a class average of 99.5% so far this quarter. Their excellence in the classroom consists of speaking in French 100% of the time, which has shown great success on their written and oral assessments. Congratulations to James Lane, Jake Ryan, Hannah Siska, and Diana Wilson for their fantastic work! Keep it up all year! You're off to a brilliant start!

PHS Economics
Mr. Marvin's PHS Economics class completed a current event "4-square" technical reading group activity that is geared toward helping students with non-fiction reading. The article, from the New York Times, pertained to the Dunkin' Donuts name change. Pictured from left to right are: Isaac Clayton, Ricky Hegedus, and Jasmine Wright!
