Myers Elementary
It’s the search for the Beastly Bank Bandits! To practice the skill of inferring, 4th grade students at Myers Elementary became detectives and searched through suspects’ “trash” to find the culprit guilty of the crime. Making inferences is an essential reading skill, and students were able to use clues, and with their prior knowledge, make connections to solve the case!

Saylor Elementary
Saylor 1st grade students were visited by Mrs. Benson from the Porter County Soil & Water Conservation District last Friday. Students walked around our school grounds in search of seeds and classified them into 3 categories: stick, sail and settle as snacks for squirrels. Afterwards, classes went inside and wrote in their journals about what they learned.
