PHS MCJROTC
Cadets from Portage Marine Corps JROTC had a chance to learn how to construct a 1-rope bridge with the assistance of the Hobart Army JROTC program. The cadets had a great time training with cadets from Hobart and the teams worked well together. Thanks LTC Buhman! Pictured (L-R) are Portage cadets Giana Vespo, Lance Watkins and Paul Hendron.

2017 marks the first time the Portage Marine Corps JROTC Color Guard has marched in the annual Valparaiso Popcorn Festival parade. The cadets made Portage proud with a fine display. Pictured (L-R) are Portage cadets Sam Hawkins, Samantha Rios, Lauren Ford, Fallon Flores, Giana Vespo and Rylee Zegarac.

PHS World Language
The World Language Department is currently wrapping up the annual Fall Fundraiser. Students in French, Spanish, and German have the opportunity to sell magazines and some other products to earn prizes for themselves and some money for our dept. The money we raise is used specifically for the Foreign Language Department. We use this money to fund the FLHS Induction Ceremony, and every year, teachers are given an allowance to buy what they would like for their classrooms - posters, games, classroom supplies - anything they need, as long as the items can be used by the students.
