Myers Elementary
Myers first graders are off to a wonderful start! School began nearly 3 weeks ago and the students are busy learning procedures, curriculum, social skills, and just adjusting to the life of a first grader. Students have learned to read with a partner, read to a teacher, read to themselves, read at home, and just develop a love for books and reading! Poetry Break is also a favorite for some of the first graders. Writing sentences correctly and beginning to write groups of sentences to form a story are yet another favorite of some first graders. Working on addition/subtraction basic facts and writing to 120 are fun for many of the kids. Of course, spelling games and math relays are included in the list of fun activities that first graders enjoy daily. Besides all of this, art class, music class, gym class, computer class, and recess rank at the top of the list for most first graders. First grade at Myers is the place to be!
