Central Elementary
The 5th grade students at Central Elementary in Portage, Indiana recently attended an overnight field trip to the Indiana Dunes Educational Learning Center. While on this trip students participated in "The Winter Adaption Program." During this program students participated in numerous activities, they learned about building shelters and how people and animals survived the cold Winter months. Students also took part in stewardship activities in which they helped to remove invasive plant species. Lastly, students learned about how human actions have a huge impact on the environment, in particular the Great Lakes. The students all enjoyed this fun and educational experience.​

Jones Elementary
Jones Elementary celebrated 100 Day on January 27th. The 100th day of school was celebrated by taking 100 steps in the hall, counting 100 dollar bills, making 100 hats, and dressing like a 100 year old lady. Jones knows how to celebrate!

Kyle Elementary
Mrs. Davies kdg students were motivated and doing well celebrating 100th Day. The students had many activities dealing with the number 100.

Saylor Elementary
Saylor 2nd grade classes were visited by Allison Andersen from the Recycling and Waste Reduction of Porter County. The students learned about solid waste landfills and how they work. The coolest part of the lesson were the edible landfills students made that reinforced the different parts of an actual one. It was a wonderful experience.
