Portage Township Schools Update, January 15, 2016

Aylesworth Elementary
Aylesworth's Kindness Club will be running the Kid Flix movie drive during January 14th-26th. They are asking students to donate new or gently used dvd's that are rated G, PG, or PG13. All the dvd's collected will then be donated to various local hospitals. This will provide a movie library for the kids to rent from during their stay in the hospital. Kindness Matters!

Central Elementary
Mrs. Ofman's kindergarten class, from Central Elementay in Portage, is enjoying reading The Magic Treehouse series together. They are at the end of "The Knight at Dawn."

Jones Elementary
Jones 5th graders have a very important decision to make very soon- if they would like to play an instrument in middle school. To help them make their decision, they are able to try out instrument from the string, brass, and woodwind family during Mrs. Duncan's music class.

Kyle Elementary
Mrs. Marquart's 4th gr. class created games to show their knowledge of adding and subtracting fractions.

Myers Elementary
Third graders in Mrs. Nicole Clark's Reading class ( Brielle Dishno, Westin Chitwood, O'Niya Culp, Nolan White, Catherine Wiemeyer, Alyssa Mefford, Eric Mills and Angelica Cornejo) enjoy using their iPads as they play a game of Kahoot to reinforce comprehension skills. Kahoot is a free game-based learning platform that can be used with any subject; engaging learners and keeping them on the edge of their seats!
