Portage Township Schools Mobile Meals program delivering meals to children age 18 and younger

PORTAGE, IND. — The Portage Township Schools Mobile Meals program will return, ensuring children have access to nutritious meals throughout virtual learning.

Now, the PTS Food Service and Transportation departments will deliver meals twice a week to all children age 18 and younger. Monday deliveries will include five days of breakfast and lunch. Friday deliveries will include meals for the weekend. All meals are currently free of charge.

Buses will run Monday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at designated stops and times throughout Portage Township. Routes may be found on the PTS website athttps://www.portage.k12.in.us/back_to_school_plan/mobile_meals​.

PTS students do not need to be present to pick up meals, but those picking up for students will need to bring a Student Information Sheet; this can be downloaded from the PTS Mobile Meals website. Children who do not attend PTS must be present to pick up meals. Face masks are required.

The Mobile Meals program will operate while PTS students are currently learning from home.
