Portage Township Schools Deploys Securly for Increased Student Safety

Portage-Township-Schools-LogoPortage Township Schools has deployed a new service that will increase the safety and security of our students while they use their school-issued devices. Securly alerts PTS administrators of any signs of bullying, harm, or threats made via students’ school-issued devices, allowing principals to take the appropriate actions to keep students safe.

Additionally, parents have the option of using Securly’s free parent portal, which allows them to view their children’s activity on the school-issued device and see any posts that have been flagged by the program. PTS parents of students in grades 6 through 12 will receive an email this week that will guide them in setting their preferences their Securly accounts. PTS issues all middle school and high school students iPads to use both during the school day and at home.

Parents will receive weekly emails from Securly with a summary of their children’s device usage. They can opt out of these emails at any time.

To provide or update an email address, parents can contact their child’s school. Parents who need assistance in setting up their Securly portal should email help@securly.com.
