PHS-LogoLast night the boys track team defeated Munster by a score of 105-27. First place finishers were: Lorenzo Wells in the 100 and 200, Gemel Tribble in the 400 meter dash, Mauricio Martinez in the 800, Danny Mills in the 110 meter hurdles, Taylor Sebben in the 300 meter hurdles, Chris Watson in the high jump, Nathan Cherry in the Long Jump, Tyler McCann in the shot put, Zach Chandler in the discus, Zach Topper in the pole vault, the 4x100 relay team of Sebben, Wells, Jared Nieves, and Kyle Green, the 4x800 relay team of Tribble, Tommy Martin, David Clegg, and Alex Gunnum, and the 4x400 relay team of Tribble, wells, Gunnum, and Martin. The Indians also swept several events with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes. The events were the 110 m hurdles with Mills, Sebben, and Daveon Finley, the 300 hurdles with Sebben Mills, and Finley, the shot put with McCann, Nick Johnson, and Craig Weinberger, and the discus with Chandler, Ronald Shore, and McCann

Yesterday the varsity softball beat the LaPorte Slicers 11-0 in 5 innings.
Kiley Jones went 2 for 2 with a triple, a 3-run homerun and 4 RBI’s, Kiley also struck out 7 to get the win
Haley Perez added a hit and 3 RBIs
Kailtin Doud had 2 hits with a double
Alexis Johnson and Sydney Coundiff each added a double and an RBI

JV won 4-1
Jeanine Bryan was 2 for 3
Amanda Music 2 RBIs and a double
Allison Staley 2 for 3 with an RBI

The Freshman baseball team opened the season with a win, beating East Chicago Central 9-5. Leading the team was Cody Potts with great work behind the plate and 2 hits with 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Shayne Devine had a hit, a run and Chris Liberto had two hits, two runs, and two steals. Danny Calo led the team off with a hit, 2 runs, and 3 steals. Jordan Cousins pitched a solid game for the Indians with 4 strikeouts through 3 innings. David Miller also pitched a great inning in relief with 2 strikeouts. The Freshman Indians return to action to play in Highland today.
