The Indians pounded out 14 hits in a 13-3 win over rival Valpo in their DAC opener. Chris Klenk opened the game with a leadoff homerun, while Hunter Thorn, Kevin Jones, Peter Psomadelis, & Jacob Bearss all had multiple hits in the game. Kevin Jones picked up his 3rd win, pitching 6 innings and striking out 12 Vikings. Come out and support the Indians as they return home on Saturday @ 10 a.m. to take on the Boone Grove Wolves.
JV won 11-1 in 5 innings against the Vikings.
Jesse Bustos was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs, Jesse also got the win with 8 strikeouts

Last night the boys track team suffered a double defeat at the hands of Lake Central and Crown Point. Lake Central defeated Portage by a score of 68-64 and Crown Point defeated the Indians 72-60. First place finishers were: Danny Mills in the 110 meter hurdles, Tommy Martin in the 800 m run and Zach Topper in the pole vault. The Indians travel to Ben Davis High School this weekend to take on many of the top ranked teams in the state.

Top Individual finishers of the meet: Paige Pizer won both the 800 meter run and the 1600M run. Kyra Ball finished second in the 1600m run and 1st in the 3200m run. Rhyan Sloan and Erin Reynolds finished 2nd and 3rd in the 3200 m run. Torie Ostrander finished 2nd in the 100 meter Dash. Delaney Barcelli finished 2nd in the Pole Vault. Ashley Sosbe finished 1st in the Discus followed by 2nd place Whitney White and 3rd place Brianna Coleman. In the Shot Put Ashley Sosbe finished 1st and Brianna Coleman finished 2nd. Diana Alonzo finished in 3rd place in the long jump and the 110M hurdles. Angelica Lopez finished 1st in the High jump to round out the scoring for Portage.
