Kristin Ashby is Lakeshore Public Television’s “Athlete of the Week.” Ashby competes for the Portage High School Softball Team.
The junior had four hits in a 7-4 win over Indianapolis Scecina and holds a 3.9 GPA.
In an effort to commend high school athletes for successful performance on and off the field, Lakeshore News Tonight’s sports department, headed by prep sports expert Joe Arredondo, searches the region for outstanding student performers. Winners receive a custom plaque and a television interview to debut on each Thursday night’s Lakeshore News Tonight broadcast.
