Mariah Wright was the only representative for Portage High School on the 2013 All-Duneland Athletic Conference Volleyball team. The team, which was announced Tuesday, included 12 players representing six DAC teams. The Indians finished tied for sixth place in the final conference standings.
Alyssa Kvarta, of Crown Point, was named the conference MVP and led the Bulldogs to a tie for third place in the conference, finishing with the same record as La Porte.
Representing conference champion Lake Central on the All-DAC team was Danielle Ellis, Tori Gardenhire and Brooke Renner. Kvarta was joined by Crown Point teammate Abby Kvachkoff on the squad.
Also on the All-DAC team were Noelle Eveland, Kate Bontrager and Monroe Olsen of Valparaiso, Shaina Perry and Danielle Plank of La Porte and Brooke Westphal of Michigan City.
Lake Central won the conference, followed by Valparaiso, Crown Point, La Porte, Chesterton, Merrillville, Portage and Michigan City.
