Earth Day Exhibitors
Recycle and Waste Reduction
The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County is accepting online registrations for exhibitors to participate in the 2014 Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration on April 19.
The largest free public environmental event in Northwest Indiana, the Earth Day Celebration draws visitors who are concerned about the environment and interested in learning more about how they can reduce their impact on the planet.
Exhibitors sought include organizations and businesses that can provide environmental awareness, services and products to attendees and inspire visitors to become more environmentally-conscious.
Prospective exhibitors can register to participate on the district's website, www.ItMeansTheWorld.org.

Master Recycler/Composter Program
Recycling & Waste Reduction District
Learn about reducing waste, recycling, household hazardous waste, composting and more by participating in the brand-new Master Recycler/Composter program. The eight-week, in-depth course will feature guest speakers and field trips that will help students gain waste reduction knowledge beyond the blue bin.
The program is available to Porter County residents and those who work in the county from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 5 through March 26, in the meeting room at the Porter County Sheriff's Department, 2755 State Rd. 49, Valparaiso.
