Effective Friday, January 25th, 2013, the Portage Police Department will begin working off-duty security at Camelot Manor. Camelot property management, Chief Williams and City Officials have worked together to increase safety and security in a high call volume location, which allows Officers to immediately respond during the high peak crime times and keeps other patrol officers free to move about the rest of the City.
“The ability to have our Officers working off-duty security at Camelot Manor is a major step in combating crime within our City. Just the mere presence of an Officer on a regular basis will help to deter criminal activity. We have responded to a number of burglaries and disturbances there, and I believe this joint venture will reduce those occurrences and make the residents feel safer,” says Chief Troy Williams.
"Public safety and security of our residents is job one for our city government. I am thankful for the property management and Police Chief Troy Williams on the agreement reached this week. I hope every resident in every neighborhood understands the importance placed on safety by our outstanding Police Department." says John Cannon, 4th District City Councilman.
