The Portage Parks Department is turning bottlecaps into benches.
The parks office, 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage, is a drop off place for used bottlecaps. They can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Caps must be cleaned.
Acceptable bottle caps can include those from milk jugs, pop bottles, detergent jugs, toothpaste and ointment tubes, peanut butter and mayonnaise jars, butter and frosting lids and others with recycle numbers 2, 4 or 5 and are 8-inches wide or less.
