The Portage High School Indians baseball team has been ranked fourth overall in Northwest Indiana in Region Sports Network’s weekly top-ten ranking.

4) Portage Indians (Last Season: 25-8; Eliminated in Sectional #2 Championship)
It’s been 17 years since the Portage Indians have won a sectional title, and 2012 might bring the best shot they’ve had in awhile with all of the talent they have returning. Third baseman Gabe Acevedo brings a big bat into the middle of the order coming off of a junior season that saw him hit .423 with five homers and 45 RBI. The Indians are going to be a dangerous team this year and we would say they were the pre-season favorite to win Sectional #2 if it weren’t for the team at #3…
