On March 16th, 2015 four of our students here at PHS went down to the Indiana Latino Students Legislative Summit to serve as legislative pages. The students who attended were selected based on their high GPA’s. While at the summit they learned the process of a bill being passed, they were encouraged to follow politics especially relating to the Latino populations, and they were given scholarship lists and intern opportunities. They also learned what the duties of a legislative page include. The students all stated it was an excellent learning experience and opened their interest in politics. Many Latino students from Indiana attended and had an opportunity to hear from our Governor as well. I have attached a picture of the four students from PHS who attended.
