The Scholastic Art awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 7th in the Bendix Theatre at the Century Center in South Bend. Over 3,200 artworks were submitted to the show and only 737 were accepted into the gallery to be judged. Madalin Balding received a Silver Key award for her photography portfolio titled “Haunted”. Mariah Devine received the Northern Indiana Pastel Society award for her drawing, “Eyes on the Horizon”.
After the award ceremony, students, their families, and art teachers enjoyed refreshments and viewed the award winning work in the South Bend Museum of Art gallery.
