Portage High School Spanish Club hosts Breakfast

Portage-High-School-Spanish-Club-BreakfastLast week, one of our new Spanish teachers, Mrs. Elisa Richard, coordinated and hosted a Spanish Club Breakfast in her classroom before school. The event was a fund raiser for the Spanish Club. For $3, the students were offered a full breakfast of sausage, eggs, bacon, pan dulce (sweet breads, a traditional Mexican food), cupcakes, and all kinds of other goodies. Students from the Spanish club helped set up, serve breakfast, collect money, and clean up the classroom. They also advertised the event and encouraged students from all over the school to come in and eat. The classroom was filled with students before school who were enjoying a large, hot breakfast and a friendly and fun atmosphere.

In addition to teaching Spanish 1 and 2, Mrs. Richard is the Spanish club sponsor this year. She also is the Freshman class sponsor and teaches Social Studies at Night School. We are very excited about all of the things she is doing with students here at PHS and are happy to have her on board as part of our team in the department of Foreign Languages!
