Portage High School’s PLTW Introduction to Engineering and Design (IED) classes have received their new 3D printers. Using a spool of ABS plastic as the print material, the 3D printers are capable of producing simple blocks to complex parts in detail. Students will use the printers to produce three-dimensional, solid models of projects they designed on the computer with the CAD program Inventor. The printers will allow students to move quickly from an idea to product having a tangible project that can be evaluated for its design.
