The Legend yearbook staff at Portage High School is celebrating after receiving two awards for their 2014 book "Nothing Personal."
The Indiana High School Press Association has named the staff as finalists in their annual Hoosier Star yearbook contest. The organization critiques yearbooks and awards the distinction to any book earning an "Excellent" or "Superior" rating.
Balfour Publishing, the company contracted to print the Legend, has named "Nothing Personal" a Best of 2014 book, showcasing the cover and select pages in their annual "Yearbook Yearbook." Forty-five high schools were chosen for publication in the book. Balfour writes, "Classic modular design alternates between blocks of vivid color and informal portraits with coordinated backgrounds. For variety, a few headshots lie beneath color transparencies. Contrasting typefaces top off the package."
PHS graduate Nick Jordan and senior Jessica Marquez serves as the book's editor-in-chief and managing editor, respectively.
