On Friday, February 28th, Portage High School hosted its first-ever Dodgeball Tournament as a fundraiser for a student organization, Business Professionals of America (BPA). In keeping with the “Family” motto at Portage, there was a student team tournament with the winning team facing a teacher's team for school bragging rights. The desire is to make this an annual event, as it is a great opportunity for students to bond with each other and teachers in a friendly way outside the classroom. Also, it was a chance for high school students not on a sports team to also showcase their athletic talents. While the students performed admirably, the winning student team was pretty tired from their round-robin tournament and subsequently lost to the teachers 2 games to none.
