Portage High School Hosts Business Professionals of America Regional Competition

Portage-High-School-Hosts-Business-Professionals-of-America-Regional-CompetitionFor the past four years, Portage High School has had the pleasure of hosting Business Professionals of America Regional Competition. This past Saturday, December 10, 2016 Portage High School once again had an amazing turnout with over seven DAC schools and 200 students participating. The portage chapter once again had an exceptional day with the team placing in events such as; Business Law, Fundamental Desktop Publishing, Visual Basic Programming, Java, Graphic Design promotion and team events such as Broadcast New Production and Administrative Support Team. Business Professionals of America has over 100 events for a student to participate in.

Natin Partin was also elected Region 1 President for the 2017-2018 school year. All of the students that placed in the top six in their respective events, will now move on and compete at the state level in Indianapolis, Indiana in March. The sponsor and region 1 coordinator Lisa Melendez is extremely proud of the team and hopes to be taking many of these students to nationals in May, which this year will be held in Orlando, Florida.
