SOFTBALL – SECTIONAL:
Portage defeated Valpo 11-5 in game one of sectional play at Chesterton last night to improve their record 14-10 (7-6 DAC). Natalie Korpak and Kylie Someson pitched for Portage. Dani Lynch hit a homerun, Natalie Korpak, Dani Lynch, Nikki Cloyd and Rhi Smolar each had two hits; Kristen Ashby, Dani Bryan, Haley Hodges, Shelby Meints and Kylie Someson all had one hit. The Indians will play Crown Point at Chesterton at 7:30 on Thursday.
