Portage Christian School Will Accept Indiana School Choice Vouchers for 2013-2014 School Year

Portage-Christian-SchoolThe Indiana State Board of Education has accepted Portage Christian School's application into the school choice scholarship or voucher program.

According to the Indiana Department of Education, the voucher program "gives Hoosier families the opportunity to send their children to a school that best meets their learning needs." Once accepted into the program, Indiana families can use state payments to offset tuition costs at qualifying schools. Portage Christian School is now a qualifying school. The voucher program is an income-based program. Income guidelines can be found on the Indiana Department of Education website. For example, a family of four must make less than $87,135 annually to qualify.

Founded in 1979, Portage Christian School is a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching educational organization that seeks to impart God's wisdom for godly living through the educational process. Portage Christian serves grades preschool-12th and offers core academic, elective, Bible and sports options for students.

"We are very excited to offer this great opportunity to families in our community," says Portage Christian School superintendent Larry Pender.

Portage Christian School will be extending its deadline for the discounted registration fee of $100 to July 15th. The deadline for teh school choice lottery is July 15. After this date, all admissions will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
