Portage Christian School Receives Indiana state Board of Education Freeway Accreditation

Portage-Christian-School-LibraryThe Indiana State Board of Education has acknowledged that Portage Christian School has met the requirements for freeway accreditation.

According to the Indiana Non-Public Education Association, “The Freeway School Program is an alternative to regular accreditation. This program allows a school to contract with the State Board of Education to achieve high levels of student achievement, attendance, and graduation rate. The program offers greater flexibility for schools to determine the curricula and staffing needs through relief from some state regulations.”

Founded in 1979, Portage Christian School is a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching educational organization that seeks to impart God's wisdom for godly living through the educational process. Portage Christian serves grades preschool-12 and offers core academic, elective, Bible, and sports options for students.

I am very pleased to announce that today the SBOE voted to accept Portage Christian School for freeway accreditation,” says Superintendent Larry Pender, who plans to apply for participation in the voucher program immediately.
