The Portage Chamber of Commerce held their annual Chill N' Grill at the chamber office. This event is chamber exclusive and allows the members to network with one another and possibly gain some new business.
"This is a perk for all of us, and this is a great day," Cathy Reed of Primerica said, "Great place to network with your fellow chamber members."
Marian Herndon of K9 Bed Bug Busters was approved as a member on the day of the grill. "I live here in the community, working some pro-bono accounts," she said, "so I joined the chamber. I'm really looking forward to networking with everyone here."
The event has been going on for about 15 years, and Terry Hufford, Executive Director of the Portage Chamber of Commerce, has been putting it on for the last 8.
"All in all it's just an opportunity to get together on a Friday afternoon before school's out," said Terry, "Most of the people here know each other from different events, so it's pretty easy to get some full tables, and everyone has a good time."
